Doggy Day Out Needs YOU

Our pups dream of car rides that don’t end in a thermometer where the sun doesn’t shine. A spin through town, a walk by the lake, a pup cup from your favorite drive-thru… these little adventures make a world of difference for a shelter dog.

The shelter can be a high stress environment. A few hours out with you helps our dogs burn off pent up energy, relax their minds, and soak up new experiences. When they return, they’re calmer, happier and far less overwhelmed when meeting potential adopters. Doggy Day Out is truly one of the best gifts you can give them.

These outings also teach them life skills they simply cannot learn inside a kennel. And here’s a bonus… someone who wasn’t planning to visit a shelter might see your furry co-pilot out and about and fall in love. You could be the reason a once-overlooked pup finally gets noticed.

We match you with a dog we believe will do well with you, but just like people, dogs blossom when they feel comfortable. Sometimes the dog you take out shows you a whole new side of themselves, and that is the magic of this program.

So take lots of pictures, share your adventures, and encourage your friends to share too. One picture can change everything. One video could bring a family running. Most of our adoptions come from dogs being seen online, and you are their walking, talking, treat-buying spotlight.
